On its maiden voyage, the Trouble was sent to the planet Beta Kerrotyn. This is a very odd place; when viewing it from approach or orbit, it appears to have the potential to be a very green world, full of life. Curiously enough, apart from a very few, spindly, usually-dead bushes, there is nothing endemic living there. In fact, whether the bushes did, in fact, evolve on Beta Kerrotyn is a matter of debate; the planet is very young.

The complete lack of single-celled life on Beta Kerrotyn has led to a great deal of speculation about whether the planet has been, at some point, interfered with. The atmosphere is dense and very high in oxygen, but there are no traces of catastrophic fires that sometimes trouble such planets (possibly because there is simply nothing there to burn). There are a few impact craters to be found, though they are few and not large.
