 Dorcas cannot fly (but would like to), although she can run very fast and keep up her speed for great distances. She is largely covered in rough feathers which, as she is just getting used to the conditions aboard ship (among them, gravity lower than she is used to), she is constantly losing feathers all over the ship. These are often iridescent and are highly prized by the crew.
