Planets We Visit, or Come From
Attodah
Star: Polaris Stellar Type: F7 (yellow supergiant, Cepheid variable) Absolute Magnitude: -3.6 Planet: Attodah (Alpha Polaris C) Class: M Diameter: 9724.3 km Mass: 2.8 x 1024 kg Surface Gravity: 0.47 ⊕ Distance from Star: 4.2 AU Year: 8.61 Years ⊕, 3,779.5 local days per year Density: 5.88kg/m3 Rotational Period: 19.95 hours Average Surface Temp: 12.83 C, varies between 12.6 and 12.98 % Surface Ocean: 62%
Attodah is a relatively young planet, with a thick atmosphere of nitrogen and oxygen with a relatively high amount of noble gasses. Land surface life is limitted to fungoid and plantlike structures (nothing that would resemble terran trees) and insects resembling ants and beetles. There are extensive icecaps on both poles which largely persist year-round.
There are numerous disconnected “seas” each with its own form of Chíshu (such as Chip) and other, related species. Some of these are close enough to be crossed overland by these creatures, and some are not. The idea of digging canals has never occurred to them.
Beta Kerrotyn
Beta Kerrotyn was the first planet visited by the Trouble on its maiden voyage. It orbits an orange star and is about 60% ocean. The climate is balmy, although vegetation is scarce and land-dwelling animals are non-existent.
Betak
Itwa
Stellar Type: K0 (orange main sequence star) Absolute Magnitude: 5.89 Planet: Itwa Class: M Radius: 6803 km Mass: 6.89 x 1024 kg; Density: 5.88kg/m3 Surface Gravity: 1.15 ⊕ Distance from Star: 0.51 AU Rotational Period: 60.5 hours Year: 0.36 Years ⊕, 52.74 local days per year Average Surface Temp: 16.2° % Surface Ocean: 68%
Itwa is the homeworld of Dorcas' species, the O'onoi. Warm and surprisingly wet considering its oceans are fairly shallow, it is a place with a riot of colorful species, of which “common bipeds” such as the O'onoi are very well represented, with numerous related- and sub-species. Itwa's insect-oid life is incredibly plentiful.
