Comms Officer: Lt. Figni Dorcas Eppri Addomecaroi Simply called "Dorcas" on board, since that's the part of her name that most of the crew can pronounce, Lt. Addomecaroi studied Communications Analysis both at the Academy and at the Bohgu Ottoh Academy on her homeworld of Shzhet. Her stay at the Academy was brief, and she was considered a rather average student, but knowing the difficulty of getting into Bohgu Ottoh, Captain Shimbo saw great potential in Dorcas and specifically chose her for the Trouble. Dorcas cannot fly (but would like to), although she can run very fast and keep up her speed for great distances. She is largely covered in rough feathers which, as she is just getting used to the conditions aboard ship (among them, gravity lower than she is used to), she is constantly losing feathers all over the ship. These are often iridescent and are highly prized by the crew. Since the standard Starfleet touch-screen controls are very difficult for Dorcas to use, a special control panel, with knobs and dials and looking suspiciously like an Interocitor was built for her. Dorcas' has an almost instinctual ability to separate signal from noise in any form of communication, and her ability to ferret out hidden messages was vital to victory when her previous assignment, the USS Waterloo, was involved in the Battle of the Anthill, when Gamm Guido's life support system was overrun by an invasive colony of Zinger Ants. For those efforts, she was promoted to Second Lieutenant and awarded a jelly donut. Dorcas speaks in short, clipped sentences, often leaving out articles and prepositions. She is the Trouble's unofficial First Officer. |
