The Captain's ready room--in its normal state--is rather plain. It features a round table, some standard-issue Starfleet chairs, and, at the Captain's insistance, a real Art-Deco style tea service.

When Capt. Shimbo took the chair on the Trouble, she decided, as a kid from Brooklyn where flats are very small, that she didn't like the official "captain's quarters" and turned them over to Mr. Sandor as a nice, quiet, out-of-the-way place to work on his Holography Room project. Since those quarters had already been hard-liked to the Ready Room, the captain has walked in to find that room outfitted, among other things, as Sam Spade's office, and the quarters of a pirate captain.

The Ready Room is reached by a doorway on the port side of the Bridge, or by the Ring 1 corridor.

Outside the Ready Room sits a palm tree in a pot. Explaining why it is there, the Captain said, "If anyone ever shoves it out the airlock, I know I'm doing something wrong," a reference the movie Mr. Roberts.
